How am I supposed to setup my cameras?
Re: How am I supposed to setup my cameras?
To get pre-recording working with these IP5M-T1277E-AI Cameras do I have to install an SD Card in each one?

Re: How am I supposed to setup my cameras?
Few things I have wrote something and now writing it over lol. Even made a Video that after watching I seen didn't show part of the video that I felt was important so will have to figure out what went wrong do it again.
So in the issue of not remembering the password. I have had that happen once or twice, Now I am not sure what I was using to add in the camera. Now only use WebUi or GUI and both methods have some little issues. Using WebUI most times they load in like you are loading a POE camera and default password to admin
When using the GUI if you click on the search in the camera area of setup, it will add in the camera using the same password as the NVR if the camera password and NVR is different then will need to update.. If in grid mode lets say 16ch view, click on empty channel spot to add in a camera, when camera is found and added it seems to default to admin and again will need to go to the camera area find camera in listing with red dot and change the password for the camera.
If setting up new New Cameras to POE NVR.. Then plug in and let it load Once it loads the default will be admin for password. It is best to change the NVRs password even if it is the same as you already use for the NVR and once you apply it will ask if you want to sync to the cameras Yes and that will change all the cameras password to match the NVRs password and won't have to worry about any outside access..
About the leading 4 seconds or what ever you might have changed that too? This from the AI search using the GUI or are you saying even if you did a normal search for the camera and played back the footage there is no lead into the area? Are you using appear? for type or using Cross/Enter If using appear then the lead time can be wrong seeing that is the time it took for it do understand something appeared there...
In my Videos I will admit the time into the box don't seem like 4 seconds But I am happy with all of my playback times. IF again doing from GUI and from AI menu when it loads the events if I play back in the right there are some videos that it don't even play 3 seconds and some that don't even play to the picture of the vehicle of the event.. However in the GUI search and playing it back it does play the whole video without that same problem.
Also using WebUI and where I normally playback from anyway it don't have that issue and plays out the event even using the AI search method..

Re: How am I supposed to setup my cameras?
No you don't need to have a Micro SD card in your camera to get Pre recorded footage from your NVR. The Camera and the NVR are not linked in that way. There is no connection to the cameras Recorder..

Re: How am I supposed to setup my cameras?
We'll, it ain't working.
Add to that these cameras have a minimum 10 sec delay between detection and starting to record. Everytime a car drives by I get a 30 second recording of an empty street that starts just after the car has passed in front of my house. If they are going slow enough I might see them just as they are are going out of view of the camera.
I ask about the SD Card because when I connect one of these cameras the Settings UI changes. It adds a checkbox for ANR in the front of the line where pre-recording is. I've tried with the ANR box checked and unchecked. I have not tried installing an SD Card yet as I don't have a spare laying about.

Note: I'm using only IVS and not Motion Detection because Motion Detection gets triggered by shadows from the things blowing in the wind. I've also set it so that if either camera 1 or camera 2 get triggered, they both start recording.

Re: How am I supposed to setup my cameras?
You have pre-record set to 30 seconds in each example.
Bear in mind the pre-record setting is a memory buffer that applies the pre stuff after the recording has completed since it can't predict the future. The longer the pre-record, the greater waste of general resources which may well be more usefully applied doing something else for another camera.
There should be zero delay between detection and recording in a proper motion detection or AI configuration.
This stuff takes time to learn and Amcrest doesn't make it any easier. Complaining about them and their lack of intuitive instruction won't either. But there are reference materials for all this that could actually help if patiently gone through and applied.
Put your head into it and figure it out. Ain't gonna happen any other way. It's also pretty much the same with most vendors. Amcrest is just a little more notorious for shitty (and sometimes totally contradictory) documentation.
Once you get a feel for the system it'll smooth out for you. Doesn't happen overnight.

Re: How am I supposed to setup my cameras?
Yes I do and it is not working. 30 seconds works fine on the older 960H with dumb bullet cams that I am replacing. That system is still running actually. I just moved the network cable from the DVR to the NVR.
I agree but if you look and the webui for the camera there is a delay and the only choice is 10-300 seconds.
If you know how to disable the delay on this specific IP5M-T1277E-AI camera please share.

Re: How am I supposed to setup my cameras?
It did not "sync" the passwords. I first hooked everything up on the living room floor with a mouse and monitor hooked directly to the NVR to make sure all the hardware worked before installing any of it. I changed the NVR password and set a static IP at that time.Revo2Maxx wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2024 3:08 pm If setting up new New Cameras to POE NVR.. Each camera prompted me to change the password the first time I accessed it via the webui by clicking on the E in the NVR's webui after the NVR was hooked to the network and I was using my PC to access it. I did set them all the same as the NVR password. Still, every time I reboot the NVR it reverts to trying and failing to use the password "admin" to access the cameras. But at least I know now and it's easy enough to go enter the right ones in.
I am using only "appear" now. I only use the WebUI now. I checked one of the recordings using both the normal search and the AI search and they are the same. As you say there is a delay as a moving car gets picked up when entering the intrusion zone. I unchecked the "record" box in the camera WebUI. This does not change the "record" box for that camera in the NVR webui. It has gotten rid of the 10 second delay.Revo2Maxx wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2024 3:08 pm About the leading 4 seconds or what ever you might have changed that too? But, I'm am still not getting any pre-record.
Oddly, using AI search I don't see all the recordings that I see in the normal search. I should get identical results as I am only using IVS to trigger recording. It seems that the recordings from one camera that was triggered by another don't come up in the AI search. (remember I've set it so that if 1 is trigered, 1 and 2 start recording. I've set 2 the same.
I don't want 10 second snippets. I want seconds 30 pre-record and 30 seconds post record. Everything is finally, after 3 days of banging my head in the circle, working the way I want it to except the pre-record.
If a car drives by day or night it "appears" in the larger 24/7 intrusion zone and the system records it in day or IR night vision. If someting "appears" in the smaller zone set for 8pm to 7am the white lights come on steady while it is recording and if it's already in ir mode, it switches to color while the lights are on.
Note: I sent a support request to amcrest about the pre-record not working. Not holding my breath but I sent it anyways.

Re: How am I supposed to setup my cameras?
Only if you intend to record to SD cards in each camera. They have nothing to do with NVR recording nor do the record settings of the cameras. They do not interact with the exception of camera IVS rules that the NVR can recognize and process accordingly..., which may vary by camera model and firmware.
If you want the 30 second pre-record for each camera recording to the NVR hard drive, it needs to be set up on the NVR as do all other recording settings.., again with the exception of the IVS capabilities inherent in the cameras that are also recognized by the NVR.
Forget the cameras as recording devices for now and just focus on learning how the NVR works. The IVS stuff will be self explanatory (including its limitations) once you get some basic motion and schedule stuff under your belt the way you want that to work. Getting fancy with camera settings will come.
Keep it simple out of the gate. Realistic expectations yield the fastest results.
Re: How am I supposed to setup my cameras?
To be honest it is going to be hard to tell with the 1277 if that is what you are working with right now.
Looking at the data sheet for the camera and lets say my TD2685 there is 2 things that stand out to me. 1 for my cameras the sheet states that Tripwire and Intrusion can filter Humans and Vehicles where your camera it just says it has Tripwire and Intrusion. SMD says it offers the Filters? So it kind of seems that your camera might be like some of my other Lite cameras that I say are Semi Ai. SMD works with filters but Tripwire and Intrusion will go off with everything and when doing a search in the AI for the channel it is on will return unknown for the type of event. Now it is still better that it don't trip like standard motion on bugs, rain, snow, clouds and the other things that plagues normal motion detection.
Keep in mind that you want to setup Pre-Record in NVR or Camera what ever you are recording to. If both then you can setup in Both.. 30 seconds is a lot of Nothing. So I did a Test in my 5108-E1 that I have setup with an Intrusion, Vehicle and Human filters in place. I also use the 4108-A2 setup to record the Ch1 of the 5108-E1 that does come in as an Ai with filter enabled. I setup the DVR as 30 second test and left the NVR with 4 sec that it comes out of the box setup for. I will admit that 4 seconds is little short in the recorded pre record and 30 seconds is just way to long.
I have made an unlisted video so I can show what it looks like in both modes..
Camea used is a 2017 TVI 2mp 5mm-50mm aka 10x zoom camera that I have setup about 30mm. It isn't a PTZ but does have presets so I have to keep it.
Can't get to the camera video from my Channel seeing it is unlisted so only way to find it is from this link https://youtu.be/pK4RiloiEyE
