We want to revert a NVR and its associated cameras back to factory, out of the box settings to reinstall the entire system and improve the install and eliminate some ongoing issues. Its an existing system installed by others.
Can you offer some strategies and input on the process to accomplish this successfully?
NVR: NV5232E-16P (currently holding 29 cameras, will have an external switch for the remaining 13) (V4.002, Build 2022)
IPCs: (26) 5M-T1179E, (3) 8M-2779E-AI
Could we reset each camera individually via the IP Config Tool, or will it have to be manually?
I believe the NVR will have a reset button on the Motherboard.
Full System Factory Reset (Re-installation)
Re: Full System Factory Reset (Re-installation)
Ok so there is no easy way to do this and I might be wrong but I have moved my 5232E-16P away from my local area so I can't confirm that there wasn't a way in the NVR However looking at my other local to me NVRs GUI and WebUI no way to do it over POE connected devices. I swore I had one NVR that had that ability and it might have been the 5232 but I am thinking not.. So all isn't lost.. As I show here in the pictures below and can right click and view in new tab to see full size if needed.. Anyway I took 7 cameras that I was already planning to reset anyway and using Dahua Config Tools reset them back to factory.. However here are the steps I needed to do..
I logged in each of the cameras WebUI, I made sure they were all the same password because the software will let you do a batch reset but will only try 1 password at a time.. So I made sure I set them to the same.. I don't normally have them all the same so that was a step I needed to take and if you have multi passwords like I then that will be first step.. Then if you don't have Dahua app you will want to DL and install the Config Tool. It is an advanced tool like the Amcrest IP tools Seeing the Amcrest don't have that option that I remember it is easier to use the Dahua one.. Then just need to connect your cameras to a switch that is local to your PC so you can setup the reset to factory. This also means you can do others but in the picture I only show my Cameras being reset.. In the picture I show even my app showing the cameras going offline the ones that I had setup on my DMSS app for Dahua as some of the cameras were Amcrest and others were Dahua but it works for both and also one of them was a IC-Realtime and that is Dahua OEM so it also was able to reset..
Once you have reset your devices connect the Cameras to your NVR after you setup your NVR and then setup your devices fresh again..
If you don't have a large enough POE+ switch then just move the cameras off and do the next reset move to the next until you get all your device reset.
