I have an NV4116-A2 NVR. The latest three IPC cameras that I installed are not showing the camera name and I am not sure why, or how to get them to show up (see attachment).
My NVR is running 3.215.00AC000.0 firmware (which I know is not the latest version, but I am unable to upgrade).
Any idea how to get these to register correctly?
Thanks!

Re: Camera name not showing in NVR
Hello and Welcome to the Forum
First not sure your system is a A2. Might want to make sure it isn't an HS. From what i think (Don't know) the A2 is a Hardware that was released after 2020 and after the roll out of the 4.0 FW. So from factory the NVR if really a A2 should have 4.0 FW and the WebUI that your screen shot is from is HS older FW from like 2018 or before..
With that said. The Device name your asking about is not the Channel Name and really don't matter to the NVR's ability to do it's job. If you look at my picture you will see that I have some of mine covered up because it shows the SN of the device and others I have added the name in the device it self before adding it to the NVR.. So if it is really that important then on the 841v3 as you can see in my list I also have that camera, you would have to log into the cameras WebUI, Then Setup, then system, General and in there it will have a name like your SN you maybe removed it or it just didn't get pulled in either way that is the area where that info is being pulled from on the V3. Same with others within my hardware I just on some don't make any changes to that info so that is why some came up with the SN that I covered up.
What is important to the NVR is what is next to the D# like in your D3 Theater that is what the name of the Channel is the Device name has no reflection of how the NVR works and isn't projected into the NVR's display.

Re: Camera name not showing in NVR
So I am clear, When you log into the Cameras WebUI and make that change, you will have to remove it from your NVR do another search (If you don't the old data is in the top window then it will not pull in the Device name.) So do a Device Search again then add it back to the channel it was on and it will now show Device name in the area. I made change to my V3 and named it different then my Channel name using Caps V.. I tried to just add it back without doing another search and it only had the SN there removed it again did a Device search and added it back and now name shows..

Re: Camera name not showing in NVR
Thanks for the reply!
I guess the biggest reason that I want the "device name" to show is because the Amcrest mobile app seems to use these values when selecing a camera.
Example:
So you can see here that since there is no "device name" being pulled here, the options simply say "Cam 8", "Cam 9" and "Cam 10".
So, when I try to open my app and pull in a camera to watch, I have to remember that "Backyard" is actually "Cam 8". Otherwise you are right, I wouldn't care about that at all....

Re: Camera name not showing in NVR
That is an App issue not the Name issue..
So in the App at the top left click on the 3 lines with dots, Click Device Manager, then click the device in question, then at the bottom click Playback Live Feed and it should update your Cameras names

Re: Camera name not showing in NVR
Grr sorry. Once you click the Device you will have to click the Pencil then click start Live View.. It will do the Refresh dance and should now have all your cameras names as listed in your NVR's names list
