Camera constantly changing resolution

Post by lbgoodhart »

We have a fresh install of an AMDV5M8 dvr with a AMC4MBC28-W-V2 camera. This is our 8th DVR at this site but we typically use the smaller 2mp cameras and never have issues. We wanted to be able to have a wider field of view for this application. The camera is constantly cycling between 1280x1440 and whatever resolution is set in the encode configuration. The encode configuration is set to 1080p and it stays set to that but cycles between 1280x1440 and 1920x1080.

Hello and Welcome to the Forum..

Sorry to hear about the issues. So while I know of the camera and DVR I don't own either one of them.. However on my 7108-AI DVR that is kind of like yours in a since of yours being AI. I have some cameras that I am able to access a OSD with. Most times you can do this from the PTZ menu of the DVR. Have you looked in the OSD if the camera has one? Was the Camera bought new? I think the camera might be 4 in 1 where it can switch from CVI, TVI, AHD and CVBS? If that is the case it might be setup in a way that it is changing in your Resolution by OSD program.. Again I don't know what features the camera has or if it is just a Base Unit.. 95% of my Analog cameras are from other companies and I know that my first CVI from Amcrest back years ago didn't offer a OSD where even some of my older cameras that I still use today do... So here is one of my 5mp cameras that I do use in this location in 2mp format.

SO in the pictures you can see this camera works in a way with different FPS format. The camera and the DVR should be setup the same way. Now I did have more options for Encoding however I just wanted to show things like 5mp will work at 20fps, 4mp will work at 30 and 25 fps and so on. If you make changes out side of that range things might not function as expected..
