White blank page for IP2M-841B-V3

Post by c9jxweyd »

Hi All,
I am having really strange issue for two IP2M-841B-V3. Both cameras are showing blank white page when I go to their IP.
However, cameras themselves are working fine because I can ping them and I can view their live stream in Home Assistant.
Both cameras are using latest firmware (V2.800.0000000.6.R).

I also tried to reset them more than few times and it didnt help.

Any suggestion?

Hello and Welcome to the forum..

So I am sorry little confused. Please bare with me.. Amcrest 841v3 that you have setup at one point with the Amcrest View Pro and or the WebUI. After you did this you then connected your Device on your Home Assistant where you can stream the cameras RTSP feed? So far I have everything right? After some time of working with your 841v3 your system no longer lets you access the cameras WebUI by going to the http://192.168.1.14 <----Your IP there.

Going to your IP brings up a White Screen? Now is that in the area of the Cameras BOX or the whole screen is white?

Did you turn on HTTPS? If not are you going to the right format for the WebUI>? RTSP is for your HA http is for WebUI!

did some testing on all my cameras and only ones I can get a white screen on is the AD410, All other devices without a WebUI have some type of error. It is really kind of odd in my mind that my AD410 gives me a Blank White page and says Not Secure.. I mean that is because it isn't HTTPS but still it acts like it wants to connect that is why it is odd...

Sorry for not being very clear in question...
Whatever you assumed is correct... for my first camera, I used Amcrest View Pro to do initial setup for camera. Once that was done, I was able to access that camera using http (didnt enable https). Using that web page, I changed some configuration like over lay, logo, user etc. After that I set it up in HA. At some point, when I checked that camera page again, it showed me that white page. So dont know exactly what it happened.

When everything else failed, I factory reset that camera. To my surprise, web page started to show all white again next day!! So I factory reset it 3rd time and updated firmware to version I mentioned in OP with hope that it will fix. But same happened.

So I opened up another brand new camera (same model, I had ordered 2 units)... so my surprise, it started to behave same way in a day.

Not sure if that helps or not, but I am using DHCP reservation for both cameras (I tried to remove reservation as well just to see if that is an issue but as expected ... it didnt help either). And also for one camera, I have disabled P2P connection (so Amcreat View Pro app will not work)... for 2nd one, P2P is enabled (but for this too app doesnt work).

In my case, I am not interested in using app, so not a deal breaker. But having blank page is big hassle because I was hoping to get 6 more external cameras and it will be very inconvenient to not to have configuration page.

Again thanks for verifying issue on your side... I see same white page for both of my cameras. I think that message you see about site being not secure if Firefox's way to tell you that you are not using HTTPS connection.

I see both cameras streaming in my HA dashboard... so I know cameras are fine and they are functioning properly.

Well it sounds like HA might have something blocking the Stream to the Amcrest Web Server. That is only next best guess seeing I don't know what or why..

About the App. While you were saying it won't work because you have P2P turned off that would only be something that would happen setting up in P2P mode. If you setup in the normal Default mode of IP then local access could work on App but don't matter as you don't care about the app..

I am going to almost bet if you don't connect your camera to your Home Assistant your WebUI will work longer then 24hours.. There has to be some type of line your installing in the setup of HA that is killing the WebUI?

Yeah for my Camera with the White page I was shocked to see anything as such, seeing the camera don't have a WebUI by design. However from having that access to the point I do. It seems it was not blocked.. For your cameras seeing they are not Smart Home Devices or the AD410 because all my other SH devices have errors messages or search info from not being a valid reachable IP even though it is the Device IP..

While I don't think you want to do this. However I would suggest turning off HA and try the Amcrest cameras on ASP for a few days or week and see if HA is the issue. I am guessing it is seeing it is only thing that don't belong and The reason I don't use HA is because after setting up some cool things that I used daily I did a Update and all things that I had or at least 40% of it was no longer able to work.. So after countless days of things I gave up on the Idea. Went from PC HA to PI HA to NON and have been happy since. I am not telling you to give it up forever I just think if you remove HA and use ASP for the time your not using it you might find that HA was the issue and then it will be trying to find the part of the code that is blocking your ability to access the Cameras WebUI. I think it is so you don't make changes in the WebUI that the HA don't understand by blocking it they make you make changes in HA for all the accessible features it offers even if there is more that you would like to use that they don't and may in a new update to come..

Thanks for suggestion.
I am going to change IP of this camera in my DHCP reservation (thus making it unavailable in HA)... and see if that helps.
I will report back with my finding.
