I wonder if maybe something I found interesting might be an issue here!????
In your computer you are trying to setup PC-NVR do you have only 1 IP address for that computer or multi IP addresses setup?
I ask this because in the only computer that I have an issue with PC-NVR is one that I have a Multi IP address setup on? All other computers that i have installed ASP and PC-NVR from Win7 starter, home, Ultimate, Win8, Win 8.1Pro, Win10 home and 10 Pro all have ASP with 1 IP address and I can use PC-NVR however my Win10 Pro with 6 Ip addresses setup on the computer it will not let me work PC-NVR past just having it on the computer but it will not give me the ability to setup the PC-NVR as the others have been setup...
Surveillance Pro Will Only Record 30 Minutes of Video
Re: Surveillance Pro Will Only Record 30 Minutes of Video
Ok so I installed ASP V2 and there is an option under settings>preview and playback that was not there in V1, it says "local record time" and its defualted to 30 min. I have set this to the max it allows (9999) and I'm recording. Will rereport back once I record an hour or so of video.jack7 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 5:00 pm
What you are describing works for me in a test with ASP PC-NVR when set up for continuous recording. Recording is not limited to 30 minutes. Use ASP Playback, search your PC-NVR cam for a <24 hour period. Playback anything in that period. Use scissor icon to select a specific time slice to export a MP4 clip to a folder for use elsewhere.
I am currently using ASP Version 2 located at https://amcrest.com/forum/amcrest-surve ... 13561.html
I think it's probably the same in ASP Version 1.
Thanks Jack.
Re: Surveillance Pro Will Only Record 30 Minutes of Video
Isn't ASP2 the one where people are saying the images are playing in Reverse?
Be Safe.
Re: Surveillance Pro Will Only Record 30 Minutes of Video
So I let it record overnight and I was able to get a full 8 hours of video onto my local hard drive. I was also able to view the full vid file on the nvr > playback. I could watch it in fast forward but was not able to skip the video ahead. I was also able to download the video to an avi format and was then able to watch the entire 8 hour video in windows media player where I could jump around the time line at will.
This seems to have solved my problem. I'll need to let it run and see if it fills my allocated space and then wrights over the older files but so far so good. I'll report back when I have more info. Thanks to everyone for the assist.
@Revo2Maxx I had no issue with video playing in reverse.

OK, I think I see what you are doing now. Are you going to ASP Live View, viewing your camera, then clicking record button there, and later clicking it to stop recording?
In doing that, you are not using PC-NVR. Where you specified the space to allocate and Overwrite in PC-NVR tab would not be used. The records would just be stored in the default folder or another one you choose for local record shown in Settings where you changed maximum record time.
I think there are benefits for using PC-NVR instead:
In ASP Replay, you can move anywhere on the timeline for the PC-NVR recorded record.
No manual clicking on start/stop Record icon in ASP Live View.
It keeps recording automatically for the schedule you specify.
Liveview does not have to be on all the time. Uses less CPU and power.
ASP can be turned off and the PC-NVR component will keep recording. PC must stay on.
To finish setting it up, you would go to PC-NVR tab and Record Plan. Then set up green Regular for whatever times you want to be recording and Save. It should start recording automatically but sometimes you need to restart ASP to get it going. Then use the instructions I provided in my last post for Replay, etc.
If local record works fine for you, just skip the PC-NVR stuff.

Thanks a ton to all you guys for the help. The ASP V2 s/w was huge. That should be the default s/w as the 30 min hard cap without a setting to change it was quickly making me consider using the cam for target practice.
Spot on, thats exactly what I'm doing. Thats how I was doing it with my Foscam set up so I was trying to do the same with this. Rookie mistake, thats me looking for a shortcut to make up for the fact that I am not familiar with the software yet. You're also correct on the storage issue. I'm watching my un-allocated hdd space be used up as the space I allocated for the NVR is not being used.OK, I think I see what you are doing now. Agreed. My biggest issue here is that I clearly dont know how to use the software properly. For now I can still record and play back all the video I need to while I test out different settings in the NVR get the most out of it.I think there are benefits for using PC-NVR instead:

Re: Surveillance Pro Will Only Record 30 Minutes of Video
This is what I am doing as well and running into the same issue.jack7 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2020 10:29 am @ZenBeck

As when you click on record, come back a few hours later and the red record light is still on, and when you click on the button again the red light goes off and you get a pop-up giving you the file name its is saved under... leading you to believe the entire 2 hours was recorded.
So what is the fix so that it actually records for the full time the red record light is telling you it is?
Re: Surveillance Pro Will Only Record 30 Minutes of Video
As mentioned earlier in this thread, in ASP version 2, go to ASP settings and change Local Record Time from 30 min. to 9999 min. Then you may be able to get a recording about a week long!
Re: Surveillance Pro Will Only Record 30 Minutes of Video
The download is for a 64-bit version, I need the 32-bit version.
Can a link be provided for the 32-bit version?
