Surveillance Pro + PC-NVR + IP Camera (P2P) Failed

Post by christnp »

BLUF: my IP camera shows up under the PC-NVR Remote Device list, but when selected it does not give me the live feed or a checkbox/import option.

I'm setting up an Amcrest IP2M-841B WiFi IP camera at my shop that is located on a different network. Without having to do any port forwarding, I want to be able to view and save the video ((PC-NVR) on my home PC. If I understand correctly, this can be done using the P2P capability of the IP2M-841B camera (please correct me if I am wrong).

In my initial setup, I'm just trying to get everything configured on my home network... so I followed the steps for adding the IP camera to Surveillance Pro via P2P and everything works smoothly (I can view the live data, replay old data [from the camera SD card], move the camera, configure the camera, etc.). I then followed the steps for getting the PV-NVR set-up by first adding my local PC as new device and then proceed to add my IP camera as a channel (as instructed); however, this is where I run into issues.

My IP camera shows up in the list, but when I select it I DO NOT get the live camera feed nor do I get the "checkbox" needed to select/import the camera.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is there a way to resolve it?

Thank you!

From your description, I suspect P2P just does not work with PC-NVR. I suggest you try amcrestddns, port forward your camera IP address assuming you have access to your camera router, and set your camera IP address to Static in camera settings. That may have a better chance of working with PC-NVR, but I haven't done it.
