I am really fed up with this. It's a constant job to keep these things going. Things are always going wrong ALL BY THEMSELVES. No changes to the computer, nothing at all, and all of a sudden, I realize nothing is being recorded. Other times, I see the camera images, and realize I'm looking at a frozen image that hasn't moves for hours. Today, the PC-NVR is on the list, but it doesn't see the cameras that are on the list. All options on the PC-NVR are grayed out. I deleted it, I re-installed it, same thing. I can deleted the cameras, reinstalled them, same thing. For no reason at all, things are different today, than they were yesterday, and I CANNOT record because the PC-NVR is not working. Restarted the computer, restarted the PC-NVR application, rebooted the router. Nothing. And it's Sunday, so no tech help. This stuff happens often enough that it's more aggravating than not to be able to see who let their dog shit on your lawn. Time to try a different system, or hang it up.
The 3 devices that are marked as RED, were the same as the device called REAR. They all stopped working, and I had to re add them. Finally, the one called REAR decided it would stay put, not change IP address.
In this picture:
You can clearly see that all VALID devices are on and recognized, but NOT by the NVR.
This is what the PC-NVR page looks like.
No cameras, not hard drives. Nothing. So fed up.

Hello Tobori ,
Please check if your computer has multiple ip addresses. That is, wired and wireless addressess. If so, you can delete PC NVR and add it again with the other ip address.
If this is is not helpful, please give us a call on 1-888-212-7538

Hey Melvin,
Nope, only one. The whole system is wired, no WIFI. Amcrest needs to do something about its software. It could be SOOOOO much easier. In this computer age, it shouldn't be that hard. How about a program that is totally intuitive, where the IP Config program is integrated, where your cameras are graphically identified and you are asked which you want to add, without having to constantly specify the IP address of each. There's just no excuse. Things could much simpler.

100% agree, the cameras are excellent but the Amcrest Surveillance application is frankly terrible. Had an inexplicable 'challenge.exe' crash every time pc was turned on, happened by itself with nothing changed on pc. Turns out formatting the HDD and re-allocating space fixed it. I have had many similar problems in the past year that i have owned these.
Amcrest really needs to completely re-design the surveillance suite application. This is what lets these cameras down, make your software like you make your cameras. We need reliability without babysitting!
