Hello -
This question may have been asked before, but I couldn't find an asnwer, so will ask again.
Is it possible to allow simultaneous writes to both the SD card and the NAS? I am presently recording several IP2M-841 cameras directly to a NAS. These cameras also have an SD card onboard.
I believe that playback through using the Amcrest PC and mobile applications is only supported via the SD card (please confirm this). I would very much like to have the SD playback capability from my phone while also recording files onto my NAS for more permanent storage.
Thanks!
Simultaneous Recording to SD card and NAS
Re: Simultaneous Recording to SD card and NAS
Hello Darryl ,
Unfortunately simultaneous recording to SD card and NAS is not supported. Also, to play back from phone app or web interface, recording needs to be stored on the SD card of the camera.

Re: Simultaneous Recording to SD card and NAS
Thank you for the explanation. I'll sacrifice immediate playback for secure write to my storage server.
Re: Simultaneous Recording to SD card and NAS
Hi Melvin, you mentioned that playback from the iPhone app or web interface is only supported when recording to the SD card but what about from the Amcrest Surveillance Pro app on the PC? I just want to confirm that by using NAS I will get the convenience of large and permanent storage but it's at the sacrifice of not being able to conveniently view the recordings. Is this correct? If so, is there any plans to change this or is it like this because the SD local storage makes it possible for the easy playback options?

Hello jdovi ,
The Amcrest Surveillance Pro software on PC effectively turns your PC into and NVR. So with that feature, you can store and playback videos from your PC. The recordings are saved on a location that you allocate on the PC hard drive. It can be an external hard drive as well. But NAS recording will not show up in Surveillance Pro.
