Just purchased and am bench testing the 853EW 12x 1080p PTZ camera. Really like the camera and the build quality, but for my application I need to have remote access to the Amcrest Web View app to be able modify and have access to the full array of PTZ functions, which aren't available on the mobile viewing app or the Amcrest Surveillance Pro destkop program. These would be functions like setting time tasks for tours, etc. I'm using Windows 10 with a Google Wifi mesh router.
I've gone through sections 4.7.1 ("UPnP/DDNS Remote Web Access Setup") and 4.7.2 ("Port Forwarding Remote Web Access Setup") of the manual but cannot seem to get to it work. The manual is here:
https://s3.amazonaws.com/amcrest-files/ ... Manual.pdf
My HTTP port is open, but I've not been able to get anything but a "mapping failed" status on the UPnP page. Apparently Google WIFI doesn't have DDNS support, so I'm wondering if this is the issue. I really love the camera and the PTZ functionality, but need to have the remote access to Amcrest Web View app otherwise I'll need to return.
Has anyone else been able to get Amcrest Web View to work on Google wifi router with this camera or its sister models? Or I am I just dense and missing something very obvious? Any info appreciated.
Remote Amcrest Web View access
Re: Remote Amcrest Web View access
It will work eventually. I suggest not using UPnP. Disable it in your camera and router. Use port forwarding.
Here are some different instructions. These look ok to me except the picture after step 9. What 's in the red box should be followed by :65423 which is the camera external port used in their example.
