Port Forwarding with Multiple DVRs

Post by DLT »

I have two DVRs (AMDV10808) on the same LAN and would like to setup both for remote viewing. I have one setup now using the recommended port forwarding settings (37776, 37777, 37778) and it works great. But, obviously, I cannot point those ports at the second DVR as well.

Is there any reason I cannot just make-up three other port numbers for the second DVR port forwarding? Are there recommended ports? Are there ports that I should definitely not use?

You can use any port numbers in the ranges allowed for your router. pick a number from where you left off with the 1st DVR.

I can confirm that this does work.

I have one DDNS. The router is configured to "port forward" to the different DVRs depending on the port numbers.

So, I just append the different port numbers (for HTTP) to connect to whichever DVR I want to access. I can even access both, at the same time, through different browser windows.
