Hi.
How do I change the default username and password for the PC NVR?
It is currently admin admin and that is a major security issue.
PC NVR Password
Re: PC NVR Password
I believe it's through the system tray icon.

Just checked. That is actually the option to what seems "Auto Login" to windows.
Re: PC NVR Password
Manged to change the password by loging in from my ipad. It advised that i need to change the password and i changed it.
Now the admin user ended up "Locked" when i try login!
These bugs are insane! `software has so much potential, but so many bugs!
Help please!!!
I am aware of the auto locking feature when wrong passwords are used, however its to easely abused with user admin and even accidentally. Old app using old password tries and blocks the user.
How do I go about it now to unlock it ? I would rather change the username for administrative purposes and delete the admin user! At least then it wont get locked

Re: PC NVR Password
I stumbled across this when i was setting up the nvr on my phone.
I typed in the admin admin and it prompted me to change the password. Sure enough if I log out and log in the NVR from the computer it's installed on, Invalid password. So editing it and putting in the new password I just set and it's online.
The software is very buggy. If you don't remove devices correctly they come up as unknown on the Recording Schedule. I had to completely reinstall both programs to clear out the old cameras, which ironically were the same cameras I was trying to re-add. This software has so much potential.
I'd like to see a way for the NVR to boot up as a service so that the virtual server it's installed on doesn't need to be logged in for the NVR to start recording. I've set the username and password for the account in the system tray but that does absolutely nothing. I had to run netplwiz and set my Admin account to not require password to log in and it magically logs itself in and runs the PC-NVR without me having to type in the password.
Hope this post helps someone else down the road and that Amcrest sees this and fixes their app.
