No recording shows after being notified.thru push notifications of motion detection

Post by julieakw »

I have a IP2M-858W camera.
pls help- the app says "no recording" after being notified of a motion detection. there are 3 icons to click I can see the motion detection in playback or when I click on the first icon. but not when I click on the middle icon. it says no recording. I was able to see the motion detection video before the app was updated. I deleted the app and reinstalled several times but it still does not enable me to see the push notification video of the detected motion when clicking on the middle icon-

I get a similar issue as well--I'll get a push notification for motion on my iPHone, I'll then tap on it, it brings up the Amcrest app on my iPhone, then attempts to load the video for said push notification event, only for the app to then tell me "No recording". I have to manually retrieve the recorded video event by (hopefully) remembering what the date/time of the push notification event was since tapping on the notification event transfers the event details to the Event List (on the Amcrest app)--the problem here is that when I look it up in the Event List it shows a date/time stamp of 00-00 00:00:00, hence my comment about my hopefully remembering what the date/time of the event was.

@tonester,@Julieakw

We are aware of an issue with the 12HR format not working properly with the event list after 1 PM.

This feature needs a bit more explaining in the app, It is best to have this set to bring up the live view instead of a recording. As the camera is likely is still recording, When the recording finished you are able to then see the recording.

I sent this information to our R&D team to look into and track further. If you have any questions and need some more assistance Please send an email to ([email protected]).

James.S--thanks for the update; actually I did change the Push Notification setting to Live View instead of Video before I read your suggestion but thanks anyways--doing this does at least give me a video rather than "No recording" when I tap to check on the notification event. Oddly enough I do seem to recall that as recently as a few Amcrest app versions ago (or perhaps a few camera firmware versions ago) this was not an issue (i.e., tapping on the push notification event on my iPhone did not return a "No recording" error back then).

I will bring this up to our R&D team, However I did do some digging myself and found they are indeed right when there is motion if you select the notification immediately it will not have finished the recording so it will report back "no Record" However once the motion has stopped and the recording finished it will be available.

Hope you are having a great week!

Although I understand the logic behind not being able to view video until the recording has finished, then how do you explain why I still get "No recording" when I tap on a push notification that was at least an hour old? And no my cameras aren't configured to record 24x7...

@Cadillacman What type of camera or recording device are you using that your not able to get playback records from?

Some things to keep in mind when there is an issue like this..

(You can get a image in email) even if you don't have a Micro SD card installed. However there will be no playback
Next you will want to make sure that you have Record setup for your Device in the settings. If it is camera and have MICRO SD installed then you will want to make sure that you camera is setup to Record on Motion, Meaning you can have your Motion turned on and have emails sent with Image yet nothing will playback unless you also have the Box next to Record turned on and have Motion to go to Micro SD if you have it going to FTP or NAS then you will not have playback from the Device you will have to play it back from FTP or NAS...
First picture here will give you a email, image and will not record to your Micro SD

This picture you will get Recordings on your MicroSD if the next picture is also followed as well. Either way with the picture here if motion is detected it will record for 10sec past the Pre Record time set on what ever format you choose in the last picture.

Please note that first section is for Recordings. IT is setup for local (MicroSD) and then the Snapshot as per this picture will be uploaded to my FTP site and also because I have it setup for Email it will email the image to me as well..
