From my IP3M-956E, I can get a 3MP snapshot with this request: "http://[cameraIP]/cgi-bin/snapshot.cgi."
Why is it that I can get only a 3MP snapshot with the same request "http://[cameraIP]/cgi-bin/snapshot.cgi" from my IP5M-1173E?
What's troubling is that the 3MP snapshot from the 5MP camera seems to a 2304x1296 cropped version of the full resolution 2592x1944 image - specifically the upper left portion!
What do I have to do to get a full 5MP 2592x1944 snapshot from the IP5M-1173E?
Thanks!
Need full resolution snapshot
Re: Need full resolution snapshot
I am going to guess and this is only a guess as my mind isn't as sharp as it once was.
Some Higher Resolution cameras don't take a FULL 5mp snapshot. There should be something in the Manual or Spec Sheet that states what the Max Res is. I don't remember what camera
I would also to be safe look under your Snapshot area and see what you have it set at for taking them. It might be only a Setting that needs to be changed in settings. I know you can setup different snap Res...
Also looking at my Amcrest Cameras Config just now I see that when I change from different Recording rates it automatic changes the Snapshot value. It might also have something to do with the Value you pick for quality as well?
However about Cropped. I remember seeing something somewhere that my 5mp TVI camera has a Different Res then a 3mp tvi and talked about one is wide 3mp and 5mp is more like a 4:3 where the 3mp is 16:9 so I wonder if it isn't the same for your setup. Sorry my cameras are from another manufacture so it is hard to say. I know that I am using my 5mp in 3mp mode to get the wider picture.
Hope something was found helpful

Re: Need full resolution snapshot
No luck changing the snapshot resolution to 5MP with various configuration changes.
Currently running with firmware "ver 2.460.AC00.0.R" dated 10/23/2017.
Does anyone know if the current version of "ver 2.460.AC01.0.R" dated 06/26/2018 would take care of the reduced snapshot resolution problem described?

Re: Need full resolution snapshot
Strange I just looked in the Manual and it states that the Snapshot size is set by Recording Resolution settings by default?
"Image Size: This dropdown box shows the image size. By default, the screenshot size
is the same size as the video feed’s resolution."
I wonder if your Recording the Main or the Sub stream and this is why.
Also looking under most 5mp Resolution status it says in General 5mp cameras are 4:3 So is normal 3mp lol so mine must be just below that because it does come out 16:9 but might be 2mp because it is a 16:10
