Hi All,
Can someone explain to me what the Camera Masking tab does on AMDV7204? I am trying to tweek to motion detection settings. My cameras have been triggered non-stop by light changes and leaves falling and for some reason not picking up actual people.
My one camera has been sending alerts all day about leaves falling but didn't record people standing right in front of it earlier today. Maybe I am using the motion detection / camera masking wrong? If I use motion detection to I need the camera masking on?
Motion Detection / Camera Masking?
Re: Motion Detection / Camera Masking?
I played with the settings more and I still get alerts from shadows / light change but no notifications from an actual person in front of the camera. I can literally stand in front of the camera, do jumping jacks and get no motion detection. But a cloud goes by I get 3 emails.
Re: Motion Detection / Camera Masking?
Hello ITGuy1024 ,
I think you should lower down the threshold from what you have set right now. If the threshold is more, it might not pick small motion but might pick up thinks like light changes or cloud.

Re: Motion Detection / Camera Masking?
I have my threshold at 0 and sensitivity at 80.
Re: Motion Detection / Camera Masking?
Lowering the threshold made it way way worse.
Re: Motion Detection / Camera Masking?
I have been using this guide for setting it up.

Re: Motion Detection / Camera Masking?
Hello ITGuy1024,
Please increase the threshold to 2 or 3 and see if it helps. Also disable the cam masking.

Re: Motion Detection / Camera Masking?
2-3 out of 100? Is the threshold that sensitive?
Re: Motion Detection / Camera Masking?
I recommended those settings because it worked better for some customers. However, it might not work the same way in your situation. Unfortunately we cannot recommend any specific values for the threshold and sensitivity as it depends upon the camera location and your requirement. It might need a little bit of trial and error run to get the optimum results.
Re: Motion Detection / Camera Masking?
Yeah I understand everyone's setup will be different. Just trying to get a better understanding of the settings and how sensitive they are. Is there a better guide I should be using?
