IP4M-1051B dead, red LED on back, can't reset.

Post by aryntha »

So we got this IP4M-1051B in March, and it's been working fine - but today, it's showing a red LED on the back, and nothing I do will change that. Have tried connecting to ethernet vs wifi, have tried the reset button procedure, have tried re-adding; nothing i do can revive it.

We also had an IPM-HX1 recently fail in this exact same manner, showing a red LED with nothing we can do to recover it, but I've given up on that camera and am more concerned with getting this IP4M-1051B working again (if even possible.)

Hello and welcome to the Forum.

Sorry your having some issues with your camera. So I am not sure what the problem is I am looking for a clear idea of what the issue is? So I have to ask because I am not there to know... It sounds like it has lost connection.

Your camera at your desk, router and computer location or mounted away from that area?
When your Camera was setup did you set it to a Static IP?
Have you tried to connect the Camera over the Eth0 Port?
Have you used Amcrest IP config tool?
After you reset the camera did it go from red to green then back to RED? or just Steady RED?

- I've taken it down, it's at my desk now, connected to the router via wired ethernet.

When your Camera was setup did you set it to a Static IP?

- No, DHCP.

Have you tried to connect the Camera over the Eth0 Port?

- Yes, that's how it's connected now.

Have you used Amcrest IP config tool?

- Yes, it doesn't find it.

After you reset the camera did it go from red to green then back to RED? or just Steady RED?

- Steady red.

Strange... Ok my only guess is that you didn't hold the reset button long enough? I would disconnect the cable and power. Press the reset button for a few seconds without power connected...

Then plug in the camera again. Wait for a min after the camera does it moves (Does it still do the moves?)

If it don't blink green then Press and hold the button for 30+ seconds even after it blinks to red wait until it blinks a second time and see if that gets the blinking green light to start setting up again?

Yeah if it is dead dead than I guess maybe reach out to the Amcrest Tech support and see if there is something they can offer as a way to fix or other solution.
