IP4M-1051B Audio

Post by aramsay »

Hello all

For a new IP4M-1051B monitoring the inside of a downstairs outside door, I found that its microphone is very sensitive. I would like to set up audio event alarms, such that if there was a noise in an area that's out of view, upon detection, the camera would record video. However, even with its sensitivity down near its minimum, and detection threshold up near its maximum, the camera still picks up all sorts of background sounds, such as HVAC coming on and running, people in other parts of the house walking, etc. Has anyone had a similar experience? Am I missing anything here? Or any advice to offer?

Thanks in advance.

Hello and welcome to the Forum..

Sadly there are so many things that can make these cameras not happy with the likes of Audio.. Only thing I can say is for me I have had to mess with things trial and error is most time consuming After I thought I found something that I like I then found it needed little more working.. I have turned off Motion and only left on Audio alerts for now doing things as it goes over and over soon I will find a sweet spot.. Once I dial that in I will turn Motion back on..

Also for me I have turned off the Noise Filter. I have tried with it in both ON and OFF when it is on makes it harder to pickup normal audio levels Right now working with it off.. Only difference is I am working with a 841 the 1051's 2mp counterpart ..

Audio Channel The audio channel shows all audio channels of the current device. Select an audio channel and its info will be displayed below.
Sensitivity: This meter's level can be adjusted from 1 to 100. The lower the value, the higher the difference the input volume change will be when compared with continuous environmental volume. This can be regarded as abnormal audio. Please adjust according to the actual environment.
Anomaly
Threshold: This meter's level can be adjusted from 1 to 100. It is used to filter environmental sound intensity. The higher the intensity, the higher the value should be set. Please adjust according to the actual environment.

In case your don't have that info..
Also please note I found my device is more stable with older FW before the 2019 FW so I am using one with 2016 FW installed.. Just wanted to be clear I am not using one with 2019 or 2020 FW...
Be Safe.
