Re: IP4M-1026. Halo at Night
Halo could be due to a nearby light source.

None really around. Someone said it may be missing an o ring or have a bad o ring. Anyone ever hear of that?

If any of the bright shore lights are causing it, you could try this.
In web UI, go to setup/camera/configuration/BLC mode, and set to HLC to see if it helps.

Thanks. I tried messing with BLC without success but when I turned Night Vision off, the ring went away.

Re: IP4M-1026. Halo at Night
Saw this when first posted and my first though was that it was some sort of glare back, perhaps because it was a dome camera but when I looked the model up saw it is a bullet camera. Nowhere near bad enough to be glare back from being inside looking out through a window but the fact that switching night mode off cures it must indicate that there's some sort of reflective problem going on. My own experience is that night vision isn't all it's made out to be unless you've got a near perfect setup.

Yeah. I agree. The funny thing is that I have an IP2M-842 right next to it facing a little left and no halo.
Re: IP4M-1026. Halo at Night
The first screenshot looks to me as if there is some sort of internal reflection going on as if the IR 'lamps' and the lens are behind a protective cover. I would think that getting any sort of useful IR illumination from the camera over the distance that the camera faces would be more or less impossible anyway

I have the same problem. My camera was next to a light colored wall and soffit. It wasn't too bad until today when I opened the camera and did a factory reset after a firmware upgrade. I might have gotten something on the IR cover. I'm going to take it off and clean it to see if that helps. Or when I put the front of the camera back on, perhaps I put IR wiring so that it is somehow deforming the boot around the camera lens. I'm going to check it out in the next day or two.

Checked camera and cleaned lens and it still has the halo. It's not too bad, but definitely noticeable. I'll try switching off night mode to see if that helps.
