I have 6 of these cameras outside my house. Also have 2 IP4M-1041 PTZ cameras inside.
Everything was working well on all cameras until about a week ago when all 6 of the outside POE cameras stopped sending emails on motion detection. Strangely, the indoor PTZ cameras continue to work fine.
I checked the motion detect and SMTP settings on all cameras and they were all the same, indoor and out. If I go into the Amcrest View Pro app and try the "Test Email" button, it says Email Test Failed, on all 6 outdoor cameras. No problem with the indoor PTZ cameras. Also tried the Amcrest IP Configuration tool. I can connect to all the cameras but the Email Test fails on the outdoor cameras. Also tried the new version 2 of the Amcrest View Pro App. Same thing.
I'm suspecting the problem is with my ISP Comcast. About a year ago they sent out a notice saying that any programs, apps or devices using TLS versions below 1.2 would not be able to connect to Comcast's servers. Because of this I had to upgrade my Mac OX so the mail tool used TLS 1.2.
Now, this happened a year ago but it was just last week that my outdoor cameras stopped sending emails. It sure seems like the problem is related to this TLS issue (even though I connect to the Comcast servers using SSL Port 465). I also tried changing from SSL to TLS Port 587 as was suggested in another thread in this forum. Made no difference.
The IP3M-954E cameras are older, from around 2018 I think. Could it be that it's a security issue with the cameras when trying to connect to Comcast servers? Also tried upgrading the firmware but it gave me a invalid file error, so I think I might already have the most recent firmware. I looked at the specs for the IP3M cameras and they don't mention anything about security specifications.
I'm thinking about buying a newer POE camera like one of the IP5M cameras and testing it out. If it works that means I have to change out all 6 cameras which I'd rather not do. I'd really like to find a fix for these old cameras.
Thanks
IP3M-954E POE Cameras Not Sending Emails
Re: IP3M-954E POE Cameras Not Sending Emails
I would buy a NVR and use the nvr to send the emails. You could use poe type to also help secure your older poe cameras. 4108E-A2. Or could save a few bucks and get 4108-A2 seeing you already have your cameras powered. Then only 1 product to fail sending emails in future. The A2 nvr is new enough that it's supported
Be Safe.

Interesting suggestion. I'll look into that.
