Ip address changes

Post by James »

I hooked up my Amcrest UltraHD 4K (8MP) to my switch that is connected to NV4116E-HS .
It connected easy. Problem, is the address is changing.
The address that it gave originally is what I left it.
What do I need to do. Please keep it easy.

Hello James... That is why it is Stated that one should change the IP address of a IP camera to static so that the Address don't change when rebooted or on power loss...

So go to WebUI and log in to the Current IP that it is.. Then when you are in the Camera view Click on Setup top right. Then go to Network settings. Tcp/IP and Under Host Name there might be a Drop down box then under that it would say Static or Dhcp.. Click on the Static, then in the area where it is asking for IP address put in the address you want setup on your DVR/NVR and save or apply.. Then the Camera will reboot and you will have the browser load back in the IP you just put in there.. However if your system isn't setup for that range you will want to add that range to your computer you will be accessing your cameras from...

alternatively you can also log into your network router and setup a dhcp reservation for your camera.

Yes when you set to Static you need to do it in the WebUI as you don't have the ability to make that change most times in NVR.. Or maybe just not able to change to static can't remember... So i would just set the IP address at the time you change to static to the Address that your NVR remembers it being when you were connected there...

Or to anything you want in the NVR range.. Then you would have to setup in NVR again...

Then what I do is I have a Multi Profile IP address in my Computer Ethernet card so I can always access anything without worrying later if I have the right IP it is already set... That way when you have it connected to your NVR your NVR does it's magic.. Then when you need to make changes and move the camera to your normal network because it is static of let say 192.168.1.146 and your Home network address is normally 10.0.1.150.. If you have your computer setup with both IP range your camera is set to static so your computer will still be able to access that ip without having to change anything and remember to change it back when done... It is set...

In mine I have 4 IP address.. Some because of different routers and other for camera config... That would be under your Ethernet card, Tcp/IP, Ip4, I changed mine to Static, and then down below on the right is Advanced. Click on Add and put in the IP address you want and the Subnet info for the address save and all good...
