HTTP Port Number Change

Post by Camhouse »

IP2M-841 updated to firmware V2.420.AC00.18.R.20170521

Since the update, I can't change my HTTP Port Number. Every time I change it, I cannot reconnect to it and have to reset the cam. I always change my port number on my Foscam cams and have not problem and it was never a problem with the Amcrest until now. I usually go to Network>Connection and change the HTTP port number. Has something changed and I'm now not doing it right? Is there a better way. Help or tips??

And YES after the change I try to connect with http://x.x.x.x:port number

Is the firmware broken or am I?

Seems Amcrest support cannot help, hopefully someone will shed some light!

Thanks all!

I have no issues. What port number are you using? The port could possibly be blocked.

It's the same port number I used before the update. After changing from port 80, I cannot access the cam again. Scanned it's IP for open ports and nothing found.

Download a network scan tool. IP scan for a PC or Fing for a smart phone or tablet. That will tell you what is onyour network. You probably need to connect via ethernet if you're trying wireless. Remember, these things have 2 nics: a wired and a wireless. Make sure you're IP is set up correctly.
