I won't start in on the inoperable webplugin for Chrome - *but* I will ask about anyone encountering high CPU usage when viewing the cameras in browser or Surveillance Pro app.
NV4108E on latest firmware with 4 cameras. Using IE with webplugin or Amcrest Surveillance Pro software, as soon as I open a camera to view 50-75% CPU usage until I close it. I have a Surface Book, Win10 1803 latest updates as of this writing. I can reproduce this on three other HP ProDesk 400/600 machines in my office with Windows 10.
Support's response is 'that is just how the program works'. Is that really the case? Viewing the cameras for a staff member or two has always been simple with the Axis cameras we had before, internally or externally. But running a machine into meltdown for this seems more than a bit excessive. Support took a look, saw that Chrome still prompted to install, even though it had been installed already, and just washed their hands of it. I am surprised - but if this is true, I will need to get another system and refund this one. Just can't bake several machines to view a camera.
High CPU
Re: High CPU
Hello,
The software and browser interface can take some CPU usage especially when you have multiple higher resolution cameras connected. If the camera resolution is lowered the performance should improve.
