I have the IP2M-841B, my memory card got full and overwrote the previous data, which was about 1-3 days back that I really need, the rest are not as important. Is there anyway possible to get these files back? I used a couple of programs (365 media recover, undelete, Magic fat32) that retrieved some files, however every one of them gave me a error that it can't play back in Windows media player, Pot player, and VLC player.
Do I need to do something to the files to make the play? I tried changing the file extension from mp4 to dav with no luck. Is there a better program you would recommend to retrieve these files, as I said only about 1-3 days after the overwrite is all files that I primary I need, but more would be even better.
Thank you for your help in advance.
Files overwritten, please help
Re: Files overwritten, please help
I forgot to mention the files are on a SD card only
Re: Files overwritten, please help
In my experience, if VLC can't deal with the file/s then it's unlikely that anything else will be able to, assuming that you tried using VLC to transcode and/or stream the file. You could also try with Handbrake.
You don't mention what capacity your SD card is but with my 32GB card I get between 2-3 days worth of recordings after which they are overwritten. The alternative to overwriting, to stop recording, seems pretty pointless to me.

Re: Files overwritten, please help
I made the mistake of using a 16GB card, until I could go out and buy something bigger. By the time I put the bigger one in I discovered the 2 important days prior had been overwritten

If you haven't done it, you could try Amcrest Smart Player to play a recovered file, since Amcrest originally created it.xenoxide wrote: I used a couple of programs (365 media recover, undelete, Magic fat32) that retrieved some files, however every one of them gave me a error that it can't play back in Windows media player, Pot player, and VLC player.
