External IR Floodlight

Post by tellerik »

Hi, I have my camera indoor facing the glass window, at night the IR lights blind the camera. If I turn off the Night Vision and have an external IR Floodlight outside, will the camera "see" at night using the external IR floodlight? Or must the camera night vision be turned on, hence turning on the internal IR lights, nullifying the external IR Floodlight? Maybe asked a different way, can I turn on night vision while keeping the internal IR lights off?

Hello and welcome to the Forum..

As long as you have the Night vision on and IR for the camera off then yes you can use a outdoor IR blaster.. It is best to have it mounted in the FOV of the camera and above it... So what I mean is that your Camera facing north and is a 90 degree FOV then you would want a IR blaster that has a 90 degree angle and mount it North as well... It is best I found to use Amcrest Pro app with camera online and set the angle and pitch of the Blaster to give the best picture
Be Safe.
