Dimesion/specification DC power-connector-plug

Post by Oldtechy »

HI . I just purchased this CAM : " IP2M-841B "
What is the specification / dimensions of the DC power-connector that plugs into the camera?
I need to run an longer power-line than the OEM length on the supplied " 5vdc power-supply"
So, I will need to create a longer power-supply cable (& smaller-gauge).
thank you

Hi Amcrest,

I see the answer to the previous post is that the DC Connector for the IP2M-841B is 3.5mm x 1.35mm. How about for the IP2M-842, is it the same?

Thanks in advance for an answer,

James

Hello,
For the outdoor camera, the power plug size is different. It is 5.5 x 2.1 mm.

Is there an extension for the power cable on the bullet type cameras? 8 feet barely gets me where I need to get power from? How do you all run power to these cameras? I don't want to have extension cords running through my attic with 110 volts

Hi,

For outdoor cameras you can try the below extension cable.

The part # on the board for the female socket that is capable of accepting the 3.5mm x 1.35mm plug is DigiKey Part Number 839-1509-ND. I had to solder a new one on after the cat tripped over the power cable and the camera dropped off the table.
