I have 4 Amcrest ip cameras - IP3M-943W and an Amcrest NVR4108-HS w/ 1TB hardrive connected in my network - 2 on wifi and 2 wired. They all can be seen on the monitor connected to the NVR.
I have a 5th ip camera that I would like to have show up in the same manner, but it is a Dahua IPC-HFW1320S [wired] and although it shows up in ipconfig tool and I can access it through IE website [192.168.0.xx] I cannot get it on my NVR monitor. I would like to be able to record ALL my cameras on my NVR hard drive.
Question #1: Is it even possible to have this Dahua camera hooked up to an Amcrest NVR?
Question #2: If it is, how can I do this?
Thank You

Re: connect dahua ip camera
So I would guess that you can you will just have to maybe connect it like you would any other third party Cameras. Or I could be wrong on this and you need to setup just like the Amcrest ones.
However you might have to click on the Manual Add?
Then put in the IP address of the Camera and other info that is needed. All that you would be able to get off the Config of the Camera.... LIke PORT # and Such...Also will need to put in the admin user name and password... The part that may or may not change is the part where it will ask for type. It would or could be Private like the Amcrest ones or might have to Pick the ONVIF one... Once added it will work as it should however some things in setup might need to be done over the Cameras WebUI if the NVR don't pull it all in...
I use my Amcrest 1.3mp Wifi camera on a Brand N DVR Over the Onvif and doing a Manual add... Works great.
So one last thing I was thinking about... Some cameras may or may not work with Motion if it isn't an Amcrest camera. I am not saying this is the case I am saying it could be the case. SO with that it would need to be setup to Record full time. Mine works fine over motion but others have reported such things thought I should mention it...

Re: connect dahua ip camera
Hi Revo2Maxx, Thanks for stepping up and answering me once again.
Because I don't seem to be able to view the LIVE camera [dahua] on my monitor, i assumed that it was not recording either. As it happens the Dahua is recording footage and I am able to view it re: website on IE [192.168.0.xx], but I cannot get it to showup on my Monitor with my other cams [4].
It is listed as ipcam5 and I can see it listed with my 4 other cameras under the NVR Main Menu>Settings>Camera.
I can view my four other cameras [LIVE] on the monitor that is connected to the NVR, but I cannot view cam5 on the monitor even when I choose to view cams 4 - 8 or just cam 5 I see a msg that says "over decode ability" on the screen.
In doing a google search on that phrase, the search took me to a website that showed what was the recommended hardware for viewing these camera. It talked about particular CPU's, RAM, and M/Boards.
I am running the NVR on its own hooked to a monitor through my modem/router. [no extraneous computer involved]
Does this mean my NVR is not powerful enough? It is a NV-4108-HS. Does this apply to my setup?

Re: connect dahua ip camera
I should maybe mention that the NV-4108-HS is a wireless NVR and my connection to my wired cams [2 Amcrest & 1 Dahua] are hooked up thru my SmartRG modem. The NVR is connected to my modem via a cat cable. There is another cat cable going to an unmanaged Dlink 8 port switch of which i use 3 ports for my wired cams. I have a second unmanaged 4 port switch that goes from the DLink 8 port switch via cat cable for other devices.
Something else, the Dahua is powered via a TPLink POE injector, while the 2 wired Amcrest are on power adapters.

Re: connect dahua ip camera
Ok sorry I got lost on the Road Map of your system lol... I have some complex Networking in my system as well....
First No the DVR should be fine.... However I don't know for sure because I don't know the camera in Question... I have had this error on one of my DVRs that is connected to my 1.3mp camera because the 1.3mp is something that isn't in my DVRs line of abilities... It does 2mp and CVBS down to D1 even but some reason the Encoding of the camera freaks it out. SO I turned off the Error for that channel. It records and works as expected so I am not sure what the problem could be with yours. Also I know my camera does 30fps however my 2mp only do 12fps so while the system does offer my ip 30fps I found when I turned the error message back on that if I lowered it down to 25fps that error is gone... SO that don't help in my mind much because of the encode relation. OH well...
About the Power delivery system I don't think that is a factor in this...
Then about the camera so are you saying that the Camera is recording to its own built in DVR on MSD? Or are you saying that your NVR is recording footage but isn't giving you the ability to Live View...
So NVR is at say for this... 192.168.0.90, The cameras that work is at 192.168.0.102 and 192.168.0.103 and the such and for sake of my thought.. Lets say your Dahua camera is at 192.168.0.55... Did you check the NVR and make sure that the pool of IP is with in that range? This isn't something on all DVR/NVR's so forgive me if this isn't even able... However it might be that the Ip camera is under the IP range of the NVR... Some could be setup to run DHCP from 100-199 kind of setup.... So if the ip was out of that range it wouldn't find it?

I would have to check the NVR to see if it has a ip range, but what it shows on the Network setup page is that it is pulling that info from my modem. At least that is what it looks like to me.[/color]
My modem is set to start dhcp range at 192.168.0.10.
My NVR is 192.168.1.20
Cam 1 192.168.0.21
Cam 2 192.168.0.22
Cam 3 192.168.0.24
Cam 4 192.168.0.25
Cam 5 192.168.0.23 Dahua camera that I cannot view Live.
They are all set to static ip when I did camera setup.

Re: connect dahua ip camera
So I am not sure... If oyur Modem/Router is setup to hand out IP address at 192.168.0.10, And your NVR is connected to it why was it setup with the 192.168.1.20 Ip? That would make it in some normal Network setups not be able to access the NVR from anything connected to the Network. Might work if say it was setup over a P2P connection... However in normal lets say...
Modem starting range is 192.168.0.10 lets say
Your computer is 192.168.0.11
Your Laptop is 192.168.0.12
Cellphone is 192.168.0.13
Iphone is 192.168.0.14
Chromecast is 192.168.0.15
Samsung Smart TV 192.168.0.16
Then your NVR is 192.168.1.20 Under normal Network settings anything above here couldn't access under normal IP.
Cameras are as your listing say starting at
192.168.0.21
192.168.0.22
and so on. While the IP of the NVR isn't the same as the Cameras it could pick up the Cameras and display them as long as they are in the range like it is... However if say your camera was setup with a 10.0.0.21 I am not sure the NVR would pick it up...
Then the strange thing is the the Ip of Camera 5 is in same range and should be picked up.. I am going to guess that maybe it has something to do with either it needing to be setup with a different port then what it is trying to set now. Or maybe if it isn't already it might need to be setup under Onvif rather then Private or vise a versa...
I am not sure why it wouldn't pull it in.

Re: connect dahua ip camera
thanks Revo2Maxx
I will try switching from ONVIF to private.
However, I must say that when I ran the Amcrest config tool to initially setup my cam system the config tool told me that the NVR was 192.168.0.20. The config tool gave me these ips and from there I setup the cam system.
As you mentioned I have other static ip devices on my network [pc's, tv, phones, etc] The are all in the range of 192.168.0.10 - 192.168.0.xx.
Why do you think my NVR has to be 192.168.0.10?

Re: connect dahua ip camera
Sorry not saying that it has to be. Just in good Practice it is good to have things in the same range...
While I have seen NVR's with POE ports pull in strange IP's and work I am going to guess non POE NVR's would need to work off the Ip routers table... While it don't need to be in the Table for it to work I guess over the NVR... Just in Theory that is how it works in my mind..
