Chrome App "resources are limited, failed to play video stream"
Chrome App "resources are limited, failed to play video stream"
I am getting this error message "resources are limited, failed to play video stream" on 3 different PCs in my house when trying to access my cameras on my LAN using the Chrome App. How do I troubleshoot this. Running Windows 10. Rebooting PC doesn't change anything. No other applications are running. Thank you

You don't mention what camera/s you're using but I used to see this a lot when my camera was connected by wi-fi. I finally bought a long ethernet cable and connected to the router with that switched wi-fi off and haven't seen the error since.
My AMCREST Cameras:-
2 x IP3M-941B firmware V2.620.00AC00.3.R, Build Date: 2019-12-18
1 x IP2M-841B firmware V2.420.AC00.18.R, Build Date: 2019-08-03

Re: Chrome App "resources are limited, failed to play video stream"
I'm using wired not wi-fi. My cameras are IP8M-2493EW dome and the bullet IP4M-1054E and two IP2M-841W indoor cameras. Same error on all cameras. All cameras are wired, not wi-fi. The video stream works in Microsoft Internet explorer...Thanks

Hi Ricky,
On the live view you have an option for sub-stream select that and see if it works.

Melvin, thank you. You mean extra stream1 and extra stream2, right? Same problem. I have now tried a 3rd PC. Same problem...

Re: Chrome App "resources are limited, failed to play video stream"
In MS Internet explorer the videos will load, no problem. I would just use IE, However, the video windows are sitting on top of some of the options. In the Event tab I cannot select regions and threshold, etc. for movement detection because of this display problem...the fact that the video windows are sitting on top of some buttons etc for options makes IE non-functional in many respects.
I tried firebox, but it seems your plug-in is too old. The newer versions of firefox won't install the plug-in, it seems.
It looks like Chrome has the most current and maintained plug-in?

What is the next level of support for this issue? I have tried the knowledge base. Where do I go next for help?

This appears to be similar:

If you have ever used amcrestview.com, perhaps you have a problem with the plugin version installed. If you did use amcrestview.com on the PC with the IE problem, you could try IE on another PC. You could pursue the problem by contacting Amcrest support by email or phone as described in the CONTACT US link at the top right of this page.
Also, the IE plugin problem may(?) be caused by the the Windows display resolution and/or size settings. To first test it, try 1920x1080 and 100% to see if it works. Then find a resolution and size setting that works for you.

Re: Chrome App "resources are limited, failed to play video stream"
This works for the scaling issue on IE.
