Hello,
I've been setting up my IP cams (IP3M-956E and IP2M-841), and inexplicably, the third camera I connected decided it would jump to 'Channel 6' instead of being sequential (or at least following the port they're connected to on my NV4108E).
I cannot seem to find a way to change this. I'd like to do so so that the 'Channel 0-0', which consists of Cameras 1 - 4, will Just Work(TM), as well as simply looking a little cleaner. Any ideas?
Changing Designated Channels on Cameras
Re: Changing Designated Channels on Cameras
Hello Morgon ,
Do you use all Amcrest cameras or mixed with any other brand? Also, please update the firmware and check if that corrects the issue.

Re: Changing Designated Channels on Cameras
As mentioned, they're all Amcrest-branded cameras. There are no other cameras on the network.
I did not see any updated firmware for the 956E. Is there another place I could check for updates to that particular product?
Aside all of that, is there no way to directly tell the NVR which channel to associate with a camera?

Hi Morgon ,
I was referring to the NVR itself for firmware. No, the camera does not have an update available yet. I have consulted with our R&D team on the issue. There seems to be an issue where channels are assigned randomly on the NVR. We are waiting to hear from the developers on this. Meanwhile I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.

Thank you for pinging the team. Just to answer your question, the NVR was updated when I first connected it.
It's interesting that many of the clients to administer the NVR (including the NVR GUI itself) have a field to select the channel, it's just that it's a single-value dropdown. Hopefully this is something the dev team have planned and will be available soon. I await your update.

Thank you Morgan. We will let them know about that as well.

Any update on this? I just purchased the NV4432E and I can't change the channel they were first assigned

Re: Changing Designated Channels on Cameras
i'm also having this issue, and would love to be able to fix it. i have 8 cameras wired into my NV4108E and even if i switch the wires around, the channels stay the same. please tell me i'm missing something in the settings or there is a patch update coming soon.
Re: Changing Designated Channels on Cameras
I found that if you, write down the IP addresses of the cameras, then delete all of them under "remote", you can manually add them back in with the channel you want (one at a time). However, if you reboot the NVR for any reason it goes back and randomly assigns them again.
I have had the cameras and NVR running for a couple weeks, and this has also been driving me nuts. It would be great if Amcrest could fix this (along with support for Google Chrome).
