Brand new IP5M-D1188EW-28MM attempting to configure through the web
Trying to get snapshot to ftp to work. When I configure Destination FTP then hit test I get "Server connection failure"
I have a url in "Server Address"
I have filezilla running with the same address/username/password and it has no problem connecting and transferring files.
Storage Destination FTP Enable does not let me enable the FTP settings
What have I gotten wrong?

cannot get FTP test working
Re: cannot get FTP test working
In the Storage area you will need to choose FTP either full time recording or snapshot on the page before you would access the MSD card if it has one. In that Storage area there will be 3 check boxes recording, and snapshots. Moving that by clicking FTP save, then click on FTP tab and you will be able to enable as long as you have entered some data in the field
Be Safe.

Thanks for the info, that solves the enable problem
Still have "Server connection failure" problem

Re: cannot get FTP test working
The "failed" message in response to clicking the test ftp connection button is a long time problem and the result can't be relied on.
I only have experience of saving to the ftp server on my NAS but the test always shows as failed for me, my cameras are saving snapshots nonetheless. When I was investigating some time ago, I could see that the test involved creating a folder in the target ftp folder and then deleting it. I came to the conclusion that the test is verifying that the camera is capable of creating folders, writing files to them and also deleting anything it has created and this process doesn't complete for some reason.
I would double check that the 'save' folder has got full permissions assigned to it i.e. 777 but you've probably already done that

Re: cannot get FTP test working
But my camera is not sending snapshots to my ftp server
I have filezilla accessing my ftp site, creating directories and saving files with the same credentials in the camera

Re: cannot get FTP test working
Can you confirm whether the FTP server is on your LAN or is it on hosted web space perhaps? If it's the latter, I'll do some testing to see whether I can get one of my cameras saving to my web site.
