This has recently happened to me as well. The camera stopped sending emails around May 2, 2019 and had seemed to be intermittently failing to send emails for a few weeks before that. The camera has been using the same email configuration for multiple years. Here's my setup.

Camera model: IP2M-844E
Firmware version: V2.520.0000.0.R.20170317
SMTP service: Gmail

As you reported, whereas emails have gone out in the past, now they're not sending and the Email Test button in the camera control panel reports "Email test failed". I am still able to send email properly with exactly the same SMTP settings using Thunderbird, so the Gmail settings are correct and Gmail is not blocking SMTP from my account.

I wouldn't expect that Amcrest inserts its own servers in the email sending process, so my best theory is that Gmail has started blocking certain types of emails sent with SMTP. The blocking would have to be based on the specific way Amcrest camera software formats these emails, since I can still send messages from the same network using Thunderbird.

I will try another SMTP service, if I can find one, to test that theory. Below are my Gmail SMTP settings in case it's helpful for troubleshooting. These worked fine for years in the Amcrest camera, still work fine in Thunderbird, but now fail in Amcrest.

Thumbs-down to Amcrest for including no helpful information about a failed email test - no way to know if the remote server returned an error, etc. Seems like the sort of thing that should appear in the camera's log.

SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com
Port: 465
Username: (Gmail username)
Password; (Gmail password)
Sender: (Sender name)
Authentication: SSL
Mail Receiver: (Recipient set and appearing in the list after clicking the "+" button)
Interval: 150 seconds
Keep Alive: Off

Whoops, I also just spotted the separate thread with fix for this issue after finding this one first:

https://amcrest.com/forum/ip-cameras-f1 ... 12361.html

Short answer, switch to:

Authentication: TLS
Port: 587

That's working for me, though I had tried that fix earlier with no success at first. I believe I had just changed the settings and tried "Email Test" earlier. I needed to click "Save" first before the email test would succeed.
