Amcrest Surveillance Pro Sudden High CPU
Amcrest Surveillance Pro Sudden High CPU
I have been using ASP with four wireless cameras for more than two years. Recently, the software began demanding 100% CPU time a few seconds after loading and attaching to the cameras, essentially locking the workstation. I have changed nothing in the configurations but, with Windows 10, I'm sure there were automatic upgrades over this period. I do not think this happens if I am looking at only one camera. It always happens when opening all four. I have an i7 and 16GB RAM so it is not processing power issue. My statistical software uses 10% of what the ASP software is using when crunching several million records in a large matrix. Something definitely wrong.

You are not alone, and Amcrest seems unable or unwilling to address.
