Hello,
I recently purchased two Amcrest IP3M-954EB Power over ethernet IP cameras.
They are directly wired to a Unifi 24 port POE router, and are getting sufficient power.
Both of them have cable runs of less than 60' using CAT6.
The main stream quality looks AMAZING when viewing via the web browser.
However, I need access to a high quality MJPEG or H264 stream, which according to page 16 of the CGI/APK manual on this website for the camera is supported.
However, when I view the stream it goes from 100-0 in terms of quality over a span of about 10 seconds.
Before = AC
After = AC2

Re: Amcrest IP3M-954EB Terrible Stream Quality
I had the exact same experience with my IP3M-954E and IPM-723B cameras. I messed with them a long time trying to get the Mpeg sub-stream working - I finally gave up.
I instead used the following to access the main stream and have had good results.
"rtsp://username:[email protected]:xxxx/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=0"
Unfortunately, Chrome does not natively support rtsp streams any longer so you will need to use a browser that does.
