Amcrest IP2M-841 not recording anything to sdcard

Hello!

I just installed my camera and just for testing purposes installed an old microsd card 500MB in size. The system detected it and I formatted it via the web UI - camera rebooted.

2 - I setup record everything by enabling 'general' 'motion' 'alarm' in scheduler but I cannot see any of my data and it seems like I can't 'playback' since there is no files????

I did enable amcrestcloud for the 4 free hours but this shouldn't impact my local SD storage/playback capabilities if I have general scheduled to record 7 days a week at all times.

Please help!

Assuming you have SD Card box selected in the Destination menu?

Yes, selected for all (Snapshot and record) 'general' 'motion' 'alarm' selected.

I am having a similar problem.

I just spent the past 4 hours trying to use the "Playback" feature on my IP2M-841W using the Amcrest Web View software running on my Chrome browser on my Linux PC. There are no files displayed when I select "Files List". I can select "Storage" and see that the video is being stored on the SD Card and I can remove the SD Card and plug it into my PC and view the recorded video. All other features in the Amcrest Web View software running in my Chrome browser and the Amcrest View Pro software running on my Android phone appear to work.

This is the second IP2M-841 I have set-up in the past four months. I did not have this problem with the first IP2M-841 camera.

After being oh hold with Amcrest support for more than 20 minutes, I gave up and sent an email asking for advice.

OMG! The problem was "System" "Date & Time" setting DOES NOT SYNC WITH THE PC by default. Clicked the "PC Sync" button and the files are no longer being stored under the year 2000.

Would be interested why sync with the PC is not the default.

Check to see if the most-recent/latest video stream file may be corrupted--I experienced a similar issue and discovered that it was because the latest stream file somehow got corrupted, thus somehow causing the Amcrest Web View tool to not be able to access any of the files on the SD card. Another way to possibly discover that something may be amiss with the card is if you go to Setup -> Storage -> Destination -> SD Card, and then check the status of the SD card itself--if Status shows anything other than Normal, then none of the Amcrest tools (web, phone) will be able to play back any video files stored on the card. Note--as you noted, the individual files themselves can be played back if you remove the card and play it back using a different third-party video app.
