Aiming the ASH26-W floodlight cam

Post by DerrickB »

Hi all. I recently purchased and installed the ASH26-W floodlight cam. It's working great, so good in fact that I would like to get two more. This is where my question comes. As far as I can tell, this camera can only be adjusted up or down. That works fine in the location where I installed the first one. The other two, however, will need to be angled a bit get the correct field of view. There does not appear to be any way to do that on the camera or mount itself. Online I found these type of tilted mount adapters that might work: https://www.123securityproducts.com/sbp-160tm.html. I say "might" because they obviously are not made for this particular camera and I don't have enough detail about the requirements to be sure without having one in front me. Has anyone used something like this tilted mount adapter or anything else that allows you to aim the camera? I really want to angle the camera and lights over to the right around 20-25 degrees to get it pointed where I need it. Thanks.

Hello and Welcome to the Forum

Sadly I am not sure if you got things working for your needs yet..

So while this is one system I would say that is somewhat hard to install the system can be installed in a way that the lights can move up and down rather then left to right.. You see the way the system was Packed in the box that is why the system had to be with the lights side ways from the way it would or should be installed.. So I am not sure why there was no just a Screw type like all normal motion lights have been made for many many years I am going to guess maybe to help keep water out.. So only thing I don't really like about the way it was setup is once you get your lights pointing so they can go up and down rather then left to right the adjustments are both facing the same way rather then one on the right outside and one on the left outside however done to cut cost or at least keep it down from having to have 2 types...

So seeing yours is installed. You will need to un install it to get it working right... For all others here is the missing info

So when looking at the light they are setup to move right and left. looking at the back of the light the mount has 3 areas that have 2 screws holding the arms for Camera and the 2 lights.. You will want to loosen the screws on the 2 lights not all the way just enough that you can turn the lights so the wider side is facing up.. Both and doing so will let the lights now pivot up or down and the camera shouldn't have to be messed with from the back.. Once the lights are in position so they can move up and down tighten the screws back up so they don't move anymore and then it is good time to Install the Light to the Bracket..

That is how I have made it so my lights now move up and down for position to get the light facing forward and not out to the side. However if you want your lights facing out then keep them how they come out of the box...
Be Safe.
