30 second recordings
30 second recordings
my ip2m-841b camera is only recording clips appr 30 seconds in length at a time, is there a way to make it record longer like 1 - 2 minutes
Re: 30 second recordings
Sorry I am not sure I follow? Is this time for Motion Detection for Email events? or are you saying that is all the time it is giving you on your NVR, DVR, Cloud, or built in Camera Recorder?
Looking at my 841b's under storage Record Control I have options from 1min to 100 for record times Have mine set to 10 with a 5 Second Pre Record...
So other then that I don't see anything that could only post for 30 seconds unless it was setup for Email events... Then it is that low as a way to have a place holder for the event when you return to play the whole thing or log in and play back. If it is email events it has to be a short time or most email will reject because the size might be to large.
Sorry these are guesses as I can't see what is going on...

Re: 30 second recordings
The recorded clips are saved to the sd card in the camera but the camera only records between 20 and 30 seconds of footage at a time, maybe a little longer if another event should happen while the camera is already recording. I don't have email setup in the camera so it is not trying to email anything.
I changed my settings in record control to 120 with a 5 second pre record but it made no difference in the length of the recordings.

Re: 30 second recordings
I would Try and Reboot... and check. if you changed over to 120 then it should record way more then 30 to 40 seconds...
Another things Not saying that it is. But could be bad MSD..
So here is the Hard part... If doing a Reboot don't help... You could try a different MSD... If that don't change anything then last thing is to try and do a Factory Refresh... Then if that don't help there would be nothing left but to do a Factory Restore...
So Refresh is log in with WebUI. Then Click on Setup, system, Restore Default Settings... This will make it factory setup fresh without deleting your other settings... Then you would want to go and change your system back to record to the MSD.... Then it is in minutes.. and pre record in seconds. so you can get everything as it happens... I leave that at 5....
Then after all set and saved... Log out... Then log back in and check recording say after 5 min or 10 to give it some time....
All else fails...
There should be a Factory Reset on your camera... Seeing it is the 841 your reset is the little LED on the back. Some might have it turned off and forget it was even there lol... Press and hold until the Camera LED turns red... Let it go though all the Setup could take 30 seconds to a min.. Should go steady Green I think or maybe it was flashing.I don't remember because I turn mine off as a Habit...
ONce you do a factory restore user and pass would be admin admin... Then setup camera again...

In Event/Video Detection, try changing:
Record Delay - System can delay the record for specified time after alarm ended. The value ranges from 10s to 300s.

Re: 30 second recordings
I really hope someone can help me with this.
I'm experiencing the same 30 second record length issue with a record delay of 10 seconds which means that the first 10 seconds of action after the trigger is not captured. (Manual included below)
anti-Dither = 0s
Record Delay = 10s
Pack Duration = 5m
Pre-event Record = 5s
So I have three issues.
1.) Why is there no 0s record delay. If something happens I want to see it. 10s is enough time for someone to run 100yards. An old man with a dog almost made it out of video range in my driveway before the recording started.
2.) with 1 above that means the pre-record isn't working as well. Or maybe you need a pre-record of 15s to overcome the record delay minimum.
3.) The 30 seconds of recording for each video.
Include the below definitions for my camera because it looks like they change from camera to camera.
==================================== From Manual===============================
Record Delay: This field specifies in seconds how long the delay between alarm activation and recording should be.
Anti-Dither: This field allows the user to set the anti-dither time. The values in this field can range from 5 to 600 seconds. This time value controls how long the alarm signal lasts. Based on motion detection, a buzzer can go off, a tour can begin, , a snapshot can be taken, or the camera can begin recording.
