I am installing many of the Amcrest 3MP POE Ethernet cameras. I have an outdoor exception where there is one Cat 5 cable available but I would like to install two cameras. Is this possible? If so, what pinouts would I wire for on the camera side? Would I simply do the same as if I wanted to split off one cable for two Internet connections? Again this is something I do not ever do, but in this case I can't run another cable due to a collapsed conduit.
Please specify if your pinouts apply for A or B. Thank you!
2 POE cameras, one cable?
Re: 2 POE cameras, one cable?
You can't run two Ethernet devices over the same cable. The only way to make it work would be to install a 2 port POE switch after your conduit and run a cable to each camera from there. Best of luck.

I did a little more research and there is another way. You could use a 2-port modular distributor on each end of the cable to split it and support 2 devices. Here's a link to one on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/INTELLINET-2-Port ... VVKAWZ5RBV
I have not used these devices so I have no idea how well they work, reviews seem okay. Good luck.
