Hi
We installed one of these cameras for a customer who uses different subnets (192.168.x.x, 10.0.0.1, 169.252.x.x etc etc)
Is there a way to connect to this camera(Lets say the Cameras IP is 10.0.0.75) from a 192.168.1.x IP using Amcrest surveillance pro? I know that we can use amcrestview.com, but it frequently freezes and using internet explorer is a hassle.
If it helps, the sites are all connected via SonicWALL VPNs, and we have network drives that map across multiple subnets(but I didnt set them up)
Sorry if my question isn't very clear, im not exactly a networking expert. Thanks in advance though
[IP2M-858W] Connecting from a different subnet
Re: [IP2M-858W] Connecting from a different subnet
Hello and welcome to the Forum.
So while I don't have my system setup to do so. I thought I would check some things out... My system is kind of like what your talking about... I have a Main Router and a few other Routers connected to the main for reasons that only matter to me... So my Camera and DVR's used to be 3 routers in. However I thought I would change my IP camera over so now only 2 in. My main router is on a 192.168.0.1 the second router has a Static Ip from the first one of 192.168.0.6. So I changed my WebUI Port on my IP camera from the normal 80 to 37779 just because it was in line with the 37777 and 37778 that was already there. You can change it to any un used port for this case...
I then in my Second router that is a DHCP server to all the other items that connect to it at 10.0.0.1. My Camera's ip is 10.0.0.159. So in my Second Router I open the GUI and go to advance and port forwarding. I then tell the router that I want to forward ip address of 10.0.0.159. Then I pick the Port that I setup 37779 Then save and
Now when you connect to the 192.168.0.X router and you go to your address bar to the address of my second router with the port # as I changed 37779 it will take me to the camera.
Don't know how or where you have your camera setup at. However if your having issues with connection at amcrestview.com then most likely will over any other internally connected software as well...
So I will add a couple of Screen shots. One is from my Phone connected at the main router IP using web browser for connection because it is loads of work to get a computer on the router however I will get a Laptop on there install ASP to make a connection and report info off that as well... Edit: For now the Second Picture is from ASP right now with the connection showing that it is on a 10.0.0.159 ip...marked out my SN only change and small red line going around config area

Re: [IP2M-858W] Connecting from a different subnet
Thanks for the tips!!!
What i ended up doing to solve this problem was actually really simple, i probably should have tried it before i even posted...
I just went to the working machine (the one on the same subnet as the camera) and exported the device list (creates an XML file) and imported it on the computers on different subnets... and poof, it worked.
